Just over 10 years ago our sister company, Control Technologies began converting traffic lights to energy saving LED’s. Municipalities have reaped huge savings, in both energy and money by making the conversion. LED’s are a proven technology in the traffic world. Lighting Technologies was created to move this technology into the replacement of conventional lighting sources. Lower energy consumption means lower cost for municipalities/building owners as well as a significant positive impact on the environment. Converting to LED lighting is viable now and the time is right. Imagine the savings both environmentally and economically of converting Street lighting, parking/parking garage lighting, parks and public facilities, municipal building exterior lighting etc… the numbers are substantial. Lighting Technologies has recently made available our LED lighting products which include all of these application as well as indoor applications for spot lights, recessed can lights and even a replacement for fluorescent tubes. Over 4 years in research and development, these LED lights are capable of “one for one” replacement of conventional lighting up to 400 watts while reducing energy consumption by 50% or more. In addition LED lights have an incredible 70,000+ hour life cycle, that’s nearly ten years of continuous, maintenance free lighting.
